Basic Biscuit Recipe


A while back, I asked my Instagram followers to submit some of their favorite foods that they felt they couldn’t eat, simply because they were not macro friendly enough for them. One of the requests I received was for biscuits & gravy, which I gladly took to the drawing board to come up with a more versatile option. The result? A simple recipe that could easily be modified depending upon the occasion and macro allotment of the individual.

The biscuits themselves, which are solely featured in this recipe, can be made into a garlic butter version, a cheddar version (think Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits!), or even a sweet version that can be used as a pastry dough.


🔸30g garbanzo bean flour
🔸28g coconut flour
🔸1 scoop (30g) Quest Nutrition Multi Purpose Mix
🔸28g Land-o-Lakes light butter with canola oil
🔸1 tsp salt
🔸1 tsp baking powder
🔸1 large egg
🔸2.5oz FF milk (I like Fairlife milk)
🔸15 to 20 drops liquid stevia

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • In a medium sized bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients, then add wet ingredients and stir until thick dough forms.
  • Divide into 4 equal size portions and roll into balls or drop onto baking mat/non-stick baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
